Hänsel und Gretel
The story of "Hänsel and Gretel" – a family concert for children ages four and older. This scenic concert takes the audience into the Brothers Grimm's fairy tale world.
Based on a commissioned work by composer Matthias Werner from Krems for the Tonkünstler Orchestra Lower Austria's "Tonspiele" music education program, it's chamber music that works entirely without words – sounds, images, play and movement speak for themselves! Five orchestra members take their audience on a colorful adventure, telling how Hansel and Gretel overcome their fears and return home strengthened and confident. The famous fairy tale gets a fresh treatment with impressive live music and rich visuals, creating an intense atmosphere full of fun and excitement.
The family concert in Wiener Neustadt will be held as a Relaxed Performance. Special conditions will be put in place to make it easier for neurodivergent people and people with disabilities to take part in the concert: strong lighting effects will be reduced; the hall can be entered or left at any time; there will be orientation aids and a guide in plain language; noise from the audience is welcome.
